On Tuesday August 4th, U.S. District Judge Robert Payne sentenced Edward Okun to 100 years in prison.  Okun had been found guilty in March of conspiracy, wire fraud, smuggling, perjury, and money laundering.  

Judge Payne justified his sentence saying, "The sentence must deter those who have access to the funds of others.  If you ruin lives of others, your life stands to be ruined."
